The CATZ Story

Since opening its first training center in Pasadena, California in 1996, CATZ has trained tens of thousands of athletes to improve their athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury. While we have worked with professional and Olympic athletes in virtually every sport, we pride ourselves on our ability to work with young athletes. CATZ has always focused on serving the needs of athletes from the ages of 8 to 18. As a result of this focus, we understand that developing athletes require a performance training program that has been developed specifically for their needs.

CATZ training programs are sport-specific -- every CATZ workout was created by breaking down the particular sport's movement patterns, rest periods, reaction needs, muscular power, endurance requirements and common sites of injury.

Because of the success of our CATZ performance program the CATZ strength and conditioning coaches realized that everybody can benefit from this style of full-body functional training. So instead of just watching, parents of our athletes began their CATZ experience with the similar training regiment as their child but more focused on all around improvement of cardiovascular conditioning and increase of strength and stamina.  The CATZ adult program has been life changing for all of our clients because their mobility, strength and overall movement has improved so dramatically and the lifestyle they now live is active and fulfilling.

The CATZ training program is the culmination of over 30 years experience training and rehabilitating athletes. Our training programs are scientifically-designed by Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and physical therapists to improve each athlete’s speed, agility, strength, power and quickness while at the same time minimizing the risk of injury.

CATZ of Long Island was founded with the purpose of bringing a new philosophy for training kids, athletes and adults across Long Island. Our facility is run by medical, fitness, sports and business professionals with years of experience in helping people Prepare to be Great at whatever they do in life.
